2025: Last Sabbatical Trips

May - July 2025

2025 Road Trips Map

By May 2025, a year had passed since I left on my 2024 road trip. Since returning in June 2024, I focused heavily on healing mentally and on creating a solid foundation for the rest of my life.

With savings dwindling, I knew that, by the end of 2025, I needed to switch from a healing journey to an income-generating one to avoid running on financial fumes. Deciding to hit the road was an exercise in making decisions based on the faith that I will always have what I need, which is a huge victory for me.

Before, I usually made decisions based on fear. I would have stayed home afraid to spend the money.

Now, I see time is more valuable than money. Once it’s spent, it’s gone, but there will always be more money. I made the right decision.

As of September 2025, I have been on two 2025 road trips:

  • The Birthday Bucket List Road Trip: My May 2025 birthday provided the right excuse for visiting some bucket list places. My nephew also needed to get away after finishing another semester at college, so we went to West Texas.

  • The 2025 Last Sabbatical Hurrah: I revisited some state capitols, spent two weeks on the road with my cousin, and took the scenic route back home to Texas.

After returning in mid-July 2025, I knew it was time to re-engage with life and get Annie All Around up and running. I will add information about these two trips in a future update.
